**Job Summary**

The primary function of the Front End Manager is to provide overall operational direction for the Front End Department (Cash and Customer Service). The Manager will be responsible for the development and meeting of annual objectives in budgeting, sales, inventory management, staff development and management and policy compliance for the Front End Department.

**Job Duties**
- Responsible for staff recruitment and dismissals, departmental trainings, task delegation, communicating job expectations, evaluations, disciplinary actions, and scheduling as per store policy and procedures and applicable laws.
- Creates a positive environment amongst department employees; motivates staff to take responsibility and to make decisions based on experience; ensures all pertinent information is shared with staff in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Does work tasks at the customer service desk as required (returns, appliance sales, answers phones, customer inquiries, etc)
- Responsible for departmental financial analysis, labour cost forecasting, budgeting and inventory flow and management.
- Maintains departmental profitability, keeping track of monthly sales and labour costs and adjustments.
- Ensures all Health and Safety protocols are followed and all Front End department equipment are functioning properly; notifies the Store Manager of equipment malfunction.
- Responsible for the maintenance and control of cash registers; works with the IT department in order to maintain balanced, swift and efficient transactions; ensure all cash handling and loss prevention systems and procedures are performed according to established guidelines.
- Attends managers’ meetings, regularly confers with store management on a regular basis regarding the state of the department.
- Keyholding responsibilities, as required.
- Adheres to and enforces the operational store policies and procedures, health & safety policies and procedures, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and Standards Compliance procedures.
- _Perform any other job-related and/or managerial tasks at the discretion of the Store Manager or Operations Manager._

**Experience/Skills/Attributes Required**:

- Relative management college level diploma
- 2-4 years of relevant retail management experience
- 2-4 years of retail buying experience
- Experience in the natural health industry an asset
- Has the experience and ability to read and understand financial statements
