**About the position**

Taking Root is looking for a new **Project Manager** to join the Production team and lead the day-to-day management of Taking Root’s reforestation projects, ensuring that they are successfully delivered on time and on budget. The Project Managers of the Production team work closely with Taking Root’s implementation partners (eg. NGOs, producer coops, etc.) who implement the reforestation projects with local farmers in in Central and South America. The project managers support reforestation partners to adopt Taking Root’s data
- and technology-based approach to establish new planted forests linked to certified carbon credits with local smallholders who will see their production diversified and improve their climate resilience and livelihoods.

**About Us**

Taking Root’s mission is to accelerate the restoration of the world’s forests. We enable smallholder farmers to grow trees and diversify their land management practices via payments for ecosystem services from the sales of the carbon removals their tree planting activities generate. Our technology, training and continuous technical support make it simple for our reforestation partners to create transparent and robust forest carbon removals. From registering farmers and recruiting land, to monitoring trees grown and the carbon stored over time, we provide the tools at every step of the way to help our partners successfully manage and fund each of their small-scale carbon projects. Recognized for its best practices by the UN, EU and World Economic Forum, Taking Root is connecting thousands of farmers to the carbon market, improving their livelihoods and climate resiliency by restoring forests around the world.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead and develop a production phase portfolio at Taking Root and manage successful delivery of project objectives alongside the leaders of that portfolio in the reforestation partner organizations. Oversees and monitor project implementation timelines, deliverables and achievement of milestones.
- Help define operational SOPs and internal collaborative processes to track and communicate project progress and results internally and to all project stakeholders
- Maintain continuous communication and held weekly progress monitoring meetings with partners to ensure coordination and reporting of project progress.
- Scoping annual targets and project timelines, co-creating and delivering training to the reforestation partners, developing tools to monitor operational progress, designing production mitigation strategies, running data analysis to support root cause analyses and identify data quality issues and reporting on project progress internally and to funders and clients.
- Manage and ensures quality of the project data in Taking’s Root technology platform. Oversees quality of data entered by reforestation partners and takes care of data corrections as needed in collaboration with the reforestation partner counterpart
- Configures and maintain project’s account in Taking Root’s technology to satisfy project specific context and operational system functional requirements
- Early-detection and reporting of project challenges to the Production Director and proactively troubleshoot and resolve problems with the support of your partner counterpart and other Taking Root departments
- Defines implementation plans and ensures those are defined in compliance with carbon certification rules and Taking Root quality standards. Collaborates with the Methodology and Standards Department within Taking Root to ensure alignment of operational practices with the evolving carbon certification landscape.
- Collaborates in a regular basis with Taking Root Product and Engineering departments to continue developing Taking Root’s technology in accordance with the operational realities of each project and design operational monitoring tools and data analysis tools to inform operations ( scorecards, etc)
