**Job description**
Benchmark Trade Solutions is a privately owned Canadian Transportation and warehousing solutions provider servicing all North America.
**Position Summary**
The Business Development Manager is responsible for growing the company through sales initiatives, cold calling, and expanding customer relationships. This role will focus on long-term development of clients and will require negotiation, implementation, and account management tasks. The goal of the Business Development Manager is to increase sales, improve the company’s overall market presence and increase revenue.
**Qualifications**:
- Motivated and enthusiastic self starter.
- Experience or knowledge of the transportation industry is preferable.
- Sales experience an asset.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of French is an asset but not required.
- Comfortable with a variety of technology and software
**Responsibilities**
- Increase sales and maximize revenue for the company.
- Build Customer relationships, identify business opportunities, cold call, and close accounts.
- Represent the company with professionalism and respect.
- Work with customers to create custom tailored solutions for their business.
- Maintain customer relationships and develop and implement strategies for expanding the company’s customer base.
- Establish targets and goals and ensure that they are met or exceeded.
- Works independently managing set growth targets and budgetary goals.
- Review and closely monitor account performance and profitability. Communicate issues and concerns with operations and senior management when required.
- Managing appropriate pipelines and update key customer information.
- Prepares and presents sales reports as required to senior management.
- Travel may be required depending on business and customer needs.
- Maintains accurate expense & mileage reports.
- Other duties as required.
**Compensation**
Competitive salary based on experience along with commission structure and benefits.
**Salary**: $60,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
