**Position Summary**

**Duties**
- Management of biobank facility
- Development of Standard Operating Procedures, collection protocols, shipping and receiving samples
- Creation of budgets and reports for stakeholders and maintaining chemical and biological inventories
- Ensure lab adheres to safety requirements according to UHN standards
- Maintaining equipment, including booking services and routine preventative maintenance
- Keep all laboratory documents up-to-date
- Facilitate all lab members with ongoing projects
- Other duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator

**Qualifications**
- Completion of a bachelor’s science degree program, or recognized equivalent in health-related discipline
- Previous laboratory and research experience is required, 6 years minimum
- Biobank experience preferred
- Laboratory management experience preferred
- General knowledge of research processes, procedures and standards
- Excellent organization and time management and communication skills are required
- Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment and independently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Ability to work flexible hours as required by surgical schedules
- Computer literacy (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance with UHN standards
