Position Summary

Duties

  • Management of biobank facility
  • Development of Standard Operating Procedures, collection protocols, shipping and receiving samples
  • Creation of budgets and reports for stakeholders and maintaining chemical and biological inventories
  • Ensure lab adheres to safety requirements according to UHN standards
  • Maintaining equipment, including booking services and routine preventative maintenance
  • Keep all laboratory documents uptodate
  • Facilitate all lab members with ongoing projects
  • Other duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator

Qualifications

  • Completion of a bachelor's science degree program, or recognized equivalent in healthrelated discipline
  • Previous laboratory and research experience is required, 6 years minimum
  • Biobank experience preferred
  • Laboratory management experience preferred
  • General knowledge of research processes, procedures and standards
  • Excellent organization and time management and communication skills are required
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, teamoriented environment and independently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Ability to work flexible hours as required by surgical schedules
  • Computer literacy (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance with UHN standards
