Position title: Network Specialist

Reporting to: Director, Information Technology

Type of position: Full-time, permanent

Summary of Business:
**Job Description**:
Roles & Responsibilities:
Develop roadmap for the enterprise network with a five-year time horizon; provide a high-level roadmap to achieve the vision

Oversee the design and build of network solutions. Evaluate network technologies and develop requirements for Local Area Networks (LANs), Wide Area Networks (WANs), Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), Routers, Firewalls and related network devices

Design data & voice networks to optimize traffic flow & reduce/minimize latency; ensure proper segmentation, VLANs, redundancy, etc.

Architect/Design/Maintain corporate networks

Configure, deploy & maintain network devices (switches, Firewalls, Routers, Security Appliances, etc.)

Ensure network security and connectivity

Define network access policies and procedures (Administrative & Technical controls)

Change/Update access rules when required

Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, latency etc.) and test for weaknesses

Realize innovate ways to incorporate new technologies into the enterprise to produce enhanced value to existing business practices

Interface w/ service providers/vendors

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field

3-5 years of related experience

Demonstrated experience with switching and routing implementations: Arista devices, Cisco devices, Fortinet and Sophos devices

Familiarity with network design & optimization including LAN/WAN design incorporating multiple sites (MPLS & SD-WAN, VLANs, VPN & Remote Connectivity technologies eg. PPTP, L2TP, IPSec, SSL) as well as effective network segmentation

Results oriented with a strong commitment to customer service, projects, topics and change

Strong planning, organizational and presentation/communications skills with very good command of English, both spoken & written

Ability to work under pressure

Desired to Have:
Cisco Networking Certifications
