The IT Specialist at Unionville College manages the information technology and computer systems at UC, providing students with enriched learning environments, which foster intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. The IT Specialist works as a team member in the IT department to ensure the smooth operation of the school.

**The responsibilities of the IT Specialist include, but are not limited to**:

- Provisioning and maintenance of the software landscape including platforms and LMS/SIS systems used at the school (e.g. Edsby, Edsembli, Blocksi, Google Workspace, Adobe, O365)
- Document all pertinent end user identification information, including name, department, contact information, and nature of incident or service request.
- Build rapport and elicit incident and service request details from end users. Keep affected users informed about progress resolution and recovery and perform post-resolution follow-ups.
- Classify, prioritize, schedule, or escalate incident or service request (when required) to the Network & IT Operations Manager, Head of Technology, or Director.
- Record, track, and document the incident and service request resolution and completion process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken.
- Discover and associate incident or service request with any existing SLA, CMDB, Change, and Release Management records, and other affected IT components.
- Identify and learn appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the organization.
- Configure, deploy, and support mobile devices, including smartphones, tablets, and other wireless devices running on a variety of different platforms.
- Perform preventative maintenance, including checking and cleaning of workstations, printers, and peripherals.
- Test fixes to ensure each problem has been adequately resolved. Evaluate documented resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent future incidents and problems.
- Upholding a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and the UMS community members.

Qualifications, skills and abilities
- Ideally, the applicant has 3+ years proven experience in IT enviroment in a small to medium-sized enterprise
- A degree in Computer Science/Telecommunications or a related field, or equivalent technical training and certifications is desired.
- Knowledge of Exchange administration an asset
- Knowledge of Edsembli, Edsby an asset
