- Full-time (30+ hrs/week), or

**Shifts and Schedule**
- ~ 2hr to 8hr shifts, 6:45am - 9:30pm, Sunday to Saturday available
- _NOTE: Playsticity’s schedule will begin with a soft-opening format, then a school winter break format, before assuming a typical schedule beginning January 6th 2025_

$20-$24 per hour, depending on experience

Playsticity, Vancouver’s newest and most unique indoor play space, is looking for Play Supervisors. We offer flexible, drop-in, child-led play opportunities to families in Greater Vancouver. We allow children to be dropped off for 1-2hrs at a time to engage in self-determined imaginary play with fine and gross motor loose parts. We are NOT a licenced childcare centre. Throughout the week, our schedule will be open to a variety of age groups. Chronological age is not developmental stage, so our ages are loosely 3 years to 12 years (toilet trained to full independence). The ratio will be 1 staff to 8 children, with the highest number of children present 24.

**Major Responsibilities (including but not limited to)**:

- Interact directly with the children to provide quality supervision.
- Establish and maintain positive daily communication with families and other staff.
- Maintain a neat and clean environment, including all activity areas, play materials, common spaces, and washrooms.
- Exemplify patience and calm and offer co-regulation to the children.
- Support children in conflict resolution, reflection, planning, and resilience.
- Play alongside or with the children if invited to, but not leading or directing.
- Use thoughtful language that inspires or guides rather than instructs or directs.
- Ensure that all safety and supervision standards are implemented and maintained.
- Follow the staff handbook guidelines for interacting with children in a supportive manner.
- Ensure children are picked up by a designated caregiver listed in our system.
- Maintain regular attendance, be consistently punctual, and be appropriately dressed and uphold good personal hygiene.
- Follow the policies and procedures laid out in the employee handbook.

**Qualifications**
- 19 years of age or older
- Experience working with children at a variety of ages and abilities
- Clean current criminal record check (Police Information Check), the cost of which will be reimbursed on your first paycheque if you are hired at Playsticity
- Passion for supporting innovative child-led imaginary play
- An understanding of what Executive Functioning Skills are, and why they are essential to everyday life
- Current (within the last 12 months) Emergency First Aid & CPR-C Certification (or similar) is required
- Positive references from 3 past employers relating to working with children (all references will be contacted promptly)
- Applicants must be non-smoking/vaping

Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4 - 35 per week
