Finance Supervisor

**Position Summary**:
The Finance Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department by supervision of personnel, managing workload distribution, and ensuring quality of work produced by department personnel. Has a working knowledgeable of financial reporting Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger management and Procurement. Supports the Finance Director in the completion of internal and external reports, compliance with contracts, audit preparation and other required financial responsibilities.
Wage/Salary: $62k to $75k
**Essential Job Functions**:
- Supervise financial and accounting processes to comply to Company and Funder regulations, along with adherence provincial and federal laws.
- Prepare and distribute budget reports and financial statements to management in a timely fashion.
- Manage account payables and receivable activities in a timely manner.
- Perform account reconciliation activities on periodic basis.
- Update general ledger on a regular basis and ensure its accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in goals setting and performance improvements for finance staff.
- Register all finance transactions accurately for future references.
- Perform necessary variance and other accounting analysis to identify and resolve any discrepancies or gaps.
- Participate in overall annual budgetary process.
- Perform cost analysis and recommend process improvements for cost-effectiveness.
- Manage financial reporting and management tasks.
- Address financial issues and inquiries from internal and external customers.
- Perform financial audit and prepare audit reports with recommendations to Finance manager.
- Create financial presentations for management and clients.
- Develop best practices to enhance operational performance and productivity.

**Education and Experience**:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business plus minimum of 4 years progressively responsible experience — or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and highly proficient with computer software and MS Excel.
