**Position**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Assist with the planning and implementation of a culturally sensitive program reflecting the multicultural reality of Canada, to meet the social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and language development needs appropriate for the age and development of the children
- Ensure that all health and safety standards are met, respond rapidly to all safety matters
- Prepare and serve healthy snacks
- Be in the childminding rooms and ready to accept and supervise the children at the scheduled times
- Ensure that the room is set-up appropriately and that preparations are complete before the children arrive
- Demonstrate in practice, a good understanding of children’s growth and development and a willingness to learn
- Ensure that children are always properly supervised and that the required child to staff ratios are met
- Prepare appropriate activities for the children
- Behave appropriately with the children, individually and in groups
- Monitor the children’s behavior with each other and intervene as needed
- Respond sensitively to the cultural heritage, values and individual experiences of the children
- Assume an equal share of housekeeping responsibilities
- Inspect and maintain toys and equipment to ensure children’s safety
- Ensure that the materials and rooms are arranged before the children arrive and that the room is left clean and in good order after the session
- Ability to follow and implement CMAS guidelines.

**Qualifications**:

- Several years’ experience working in a daycare or childminding facility
- Sensitive to and open to working with newcomers and diverse groups
- CPR / First Aid training and certification
- Knowledgeable about child development and age-appropriate activities
- Organized, reliable and friendly; team-player
- Clear criminal record
