Location: Working remotely with option of working in a CPF office (with locations in every province)

JOB SUMMARY

The CPF Network Manager of Talent and Human Resources guides the implementation of full-scope of people-related processes, services, and policies to attract, develop, motivate and retain high-performing employees; leads the CPF Network on attracting and retaining the best people, and advises the Branch and National offices across Canada on a variety of human resource management issues.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Enhances the organization’s human resources processes by leading and working directly in support of our Network’s board of directors and as a liaison with the Executive Directors (EDs):

- Planning, recommending, developing, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, processes, and programs to ensure compliance with legislation and best practices.
- Managing a fair pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; and recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions.
- Enforces management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures. Retains historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system and keeping past and current records.
- Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements, job descriptions and performance reviews for senior staff positions. Responsible for providing education to new Executive Directors by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs.
- Provides support to EDs in planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results; in coaching and disciplining employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; and counseling employees and supervisors.
- Implements and administers employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; directing the processing of benefit claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids; awarding benefit contracts; and designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs.
- Conducts periodic employee surveys to measure employee satisfactionand employee engagement.
- Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource provincial/territorial and federal requirements, including development and implementation of policies, conducting investigations, maintaining records, and representing the organization as required.
- Ensures compliance with applicable health and safety legislation.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

You are enthusiastic, flexible, and capable of working independently and in a team setting, demonstrates excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills and can work well under pressure. You possess solid computer skills (including MS Office, web analytics, Content Management System software), analytical and problem-solving abilities, organizational and time management skills as well as sound judgment. You support a workplace that embraces diversity and encourages teamwork.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or similar work experience required.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in progressively responsible human resource roles / labor relations and employee relations roles.
- CHRP or CHRL through the HRPA certification preferred.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

Requires excellent English language proficiency in both oral and written skills. Although bilingualism (English and French) is not required for this position, it is considered an asset as CPF is an organization that promotes the learning and use of French for all Canadians.

ADDITIONAL CRITERIA
- Able to work evenings and weekends as required.
- Knowledge of Canadian Code for Volunteer Involvement and the steps involved in the Volunteer Screening process is an asset.
- Support for official languages and promoting a bilingual Canada.

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

This is currently a 24-hours per week position with the option to increase to full time position as needed (37.5-hour work week). Office hours are Monday to Friday, typically 8:30 to 4:30 with flexibility. There may be some evenin
