**Position: Child & Youth Instructor**
**Location: YMCA of Chatham-Kent**

**Start Date: September 5, 2023**

**Compensation: $15.50/hour**

**Reporting to the Child & Youth / Day Camp Supervisor, this position provides direct delivery**
**of Child and Youth programs including, Child Minding, Preschool Programs, Child and Youth**
**Programs, and Day Camp Programming.**
- Must be available for evening and weekend shifts
- Morning availability is an asset

**In this position you will**:

- Deliver and pre-plan a high-quality and age-appropriate program for children and families
- Build relationships with children, parents and coworkers
- Build the self-esteem of each child within the program
- Encourage interaction between the children and positive peer to peer relationships
- Maintain professional relationships at work
- Provide appropriate supervision and maintain a safe, welcoming environment to children and
- vulnerable persons- To demonstrate the five core values: respect, honesty, caring, inclusiveness and responsibility

**Education and Skills Qualifications**:

- Grade 10 completed or equivalent; or enrollment in Post-Secondary level program
- Related education or certifications within the child & youth sector, sports & recreation sector or
- physical education sector is an asset- Outstanding people skills are essential
- Experience in group child and youth programming is an asset; personal knowledge or instructor
- experience in special area of interest example team sports, dance, camp, etc. is an asset- Current Standard First Aid, CPR certification
- Criminal Reference Check including Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Must be at least 16 years of age
