**Summary**: Reporting to Shipping Supervisor, the Shipping Coordinator performs a variety of duties to support the shipping department to ensure on-time delivery, safety and quality. This position will be responsible for all aspects of the shipping function, and interacting with customer service and freight forwarders.

**Objective**: To ensure efficiency, safety and quality in the Shipping department in regards to generating load schedules, completing shipping, BOL, and custom documents, and conducting safety and quality audits.

**Key Contacts**:

- Plant Manager, Shipping Supervisor, Scheduler, Maintenance Coordinator, Quality Lab Technician and other functional area leaders at Burlington Plant
- Corporate Office Customer Service Department
- External Carriers

**Responsibilities**:

- 3rd party compliance - monitoring portals, discrepancies, and other correspondence
- Process debits/credits from branches and returns
- Perform cycle counts per audit schedule
- Investigate and respond to requests regarding stock availability
- Update customer service and branches on order/product status, cancel and flag orders
- Order entry for marketing samples
- Maintain filing of shipping documents
- Manage inventory of shipping materials and supplies
- Perform quality audits of the condition of incoming and outgoing products
- Perform safety audits of the shipping and receiving area
- Assist in processing all required shipping documents and maintain adequate records per ISO standards
- Assist in preparation of shipping load schedules as required
- Assist in ensuring all shipments contain proper documentation and verify completeness and accuracy
- Assist in distributing shipping schedules and monitor changes in requirements
- Assist in department improvement projects - layout, labelling
- Maintain organized work area according to policies, procedures, and safety regulations
- Monitor and enforce safety rules and procedures

**Qualifications**:
Educational/Experience/Skill
- 3+ years working in a shipping/receiving role
- Knowledge of customs and shipping documents
- Must hold and maintain a forklift certification
- Must be able to work as part of a team as well as independently

Behavioral/Mental/Physical Effort
- Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills
- Able to work under pressure and work flexible hours when required
