BSG customizes services to the exact needs and locations of clients, ensuring solutions meet precise specifications, including logistics, crew transfers, housekeeping, catering, and the fulfillment of all HSE requirements.

**The Opportunity**

The Able Seaman is responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to deck operations and vessel maintenance. They play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the ship.

**Key Responsibilities**

Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
General Tasks:

- To perform Sea and Port Watch duties as instructed and to carry out maintenance work and other operational tasks as required.

Special Tasks:

- To familiarize with regulations and work procedures pertaining to tasks to be executed.
- To execute assigned tasks in conformance with work procedures and as instructed by the Duty Officer or Chief Mate.
- To execute assigned tasks safely, to the best of the ability, and to report hazardous conditions without delay.
- Work such as entry into enclosed spaces, hot work and work aloft shall not be undertaken without prior approval by the Chief Mate.
- To familiarize with all safety equipment and safety procedures on board.
- Take part in the safety culture on board.

**Qualifications**
- Relevant experience on Passenger/ RO-RO/ cruise ship will be an asset
- Valid Seafarers Medical certificate
- Valid STCW courses
- Advanced First Aid an asset
- Ability to clear a drug and alcohol test prior to hiring and potential random tests throughout employment with prior notice;
- Excellent comprehension and command of the English language; (written & verbal);
**Working Conditions**
- Repetitive, physical activity involved (walking, kneeling, reaching, lifting)
- Lifting light to medium weight (up to 20 to 50lbs)
- Exposure to environmental elements including extreme weather conditions
