ANIDA is looking for someone with a passion for community development and experience performing accounting and financial tasks. We are looking for a Finance & Admin Assistant to join our team this winter. Working closely with the Office Manager and Junior Accountant, the Finance & Admin Assistant will support ANIDA in performing administrative tasks, processing and recording Canadian and International payments and donations, creating financial reports and completing our 2024 Audit. This opportunity will allow the applicant to enhance their knowledge of Canadian and International finances, and attain skills in communication, teamwork, and leadership, all of which are valuable and transferrable abilities across various workplaces.
The Finance & Admin Assistant will walk away from this opportunity with the basic skills and experience required to effectively coordinate and run all financial operations of our small non-profit organization. They will learn hands-on all the different aspects of a finance department, putting them in a strategic position to either move forward in seeking leadership positions or allowing them to discover which area they excel in.
**The individual will perform several tasks including**:

- Ensuring adequate record keeping and processing of payments.
- Processing payments and preparing corresponding documentation for various mediums. (cash/cheque, EFT’s, STRIPE, and Pushpay).
- Preparing financial records for all mediums to be uploaded to our organization’s database.
- Completing weekly purchase requests by using the charter of accounts to allocate costs and calculating net/taxes.
- Writing and sending cheques for reimbursements and for services rendered.

- Assisting with the documentation and completion of wire transfers to our international projects.
- Inputting payables and receivables into our accounting software.
- Cross-checking program expenses and reconciliation for each months-end.
- Adjusting budgets according to various departments depending on purchases made.
- Performing general administrative support tasks.
