Guelph, Canada R.J. BURNSIDE & ASSOCIATES LIMITED Full time

As a key member of our Bridges & Culverts team, you will work on a variety of municipal projects, including structure rehabilitations, bridge and culvert replacements, retaining wall construction and municipal roadway and infrastructure reconstruction projects. You will play an integral role in project coordination and monitoring, ensuring the projects progress in accordance with contract requirements.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Reviewing and commenting on constructability aspects of design drawings;
- Preparing tender and contract documents in support of design drawings;
- Assisting in contract negotiation and award processes;
- Organizing and chairing construction progress meetings;
- Conduct periodic and full-time site reviews to monitor project progress, ensuring conformance with design drawings and specifications.
- Liaising with municipal and governing authorities as required in support of the contract;
- Preparing and issuing site inspection reports;
- Reviewing monthly contractor progress claims and issuing or assisting with payment certificates;
- Reviewing, assessing and negotiating contractor change requests;
- Reviewing project as built information.

**Additional Requirements**:

- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required to meet project inspection and administration needs.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle to travel to project sites.

**Qualifications**:

- A minimum of 5 years of civil construction experience, including field inspection, contract administration, and client relationship management.
- A diploma or degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Microsoft Project, and Outlook.
- Strong understanding of contract documents, design drawings, and the construction process.
- Knowledge of relevant Canadian Building Codes, Construction Materials, and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
- Excellent organizational, coordination, and multitasking skills.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage priorities to meet project deadlines.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage remote project responsibilities.
