Victoria, Canada 50th Parallel Public Relations Full time

**Position Objective**:As the Social and Video Intern, you will support our company and clients by producing high-quality content in an accurate, professional and collaborative manner. As an integral part of our team, you will be responsible for developing creative and strategic content in alignment with our company’s and clients' vision.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Creating, writing, editing, and sharing social content that builds meaningful engagement and achieves results.
- Audience engagement is essential to this role. Scheduling social media content and engaging with audiences throughout all digital platforms.
- Using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite, create engaging, brand-aligned graphics to accompany content across multiple platforms.
- Helping identify potential new audiences and building lists of relevant contact information using data privacy best practices, as well as helping manage our contact database for quality and accuracy of information.
- Collaborate with the team and propose video ideas for social and other online platforms.
- Set up and prepare work plans for video content creation.
- Strategically shoot and edit video content for 50th and its clients.
- Support the development of creative video content across social media platforms.
- Keep track of social and video trends and competition to propose new and innovative ideas and solutions to content.
- Assist in tracking and reporting on campaigns.

**Qualifications**:

- Current post-secondary student, ideally from a business, marketing, communications, graphic design or related program.
- Strong graphic design skills using a platform like Canva or Adobe InDesign.
- Basic understanding of various analytics software, such as Facebook Insights, Google Analytics, and Twitter Analytics.
- Independent, resourceful, and a driven problem-solver
- Organized, efficient, accountable, reliable and detail-oriented.
- Adaptable to a fluid work environment.
- Have in-depth knowledge of video editing tools and an understanding of digital platforms and all things social.
- Always looking for ways to learn and develop your skill-set, and have a strong desire to receive coaching and mentorship.

- Interested in Marketing, Social Media, PR, and/or Communications.

This is a 4-month, 25-30 hour/week (total 420hr), and a paid ($18-$21) co-op placement. A dedicated desk, equipment and computer are provided at the 50th Parallel Public Relations offices in Victoria.
