We are seeking a Logistics Assistant, East to join and support our Logistics team. This role is supporting the effective and efficient running of the APL and GVI Ontario Warehouses to support the company’s Supply Chain/Logistics strategy in a safe, cost effective and reliable manner. The Logistics Assistant is accountable for the incoming and outgoing planning and handling of all finished goods, components, and general freight.
This position is based out of our Stoney Creek, ON warehouse.
**Specific Accountabilities**:
- Create transfer orders from all Eastern Winery production facilities to central buffers, including tracking of DSD.
- Print inventory count sheets, working with stockpersons reconciles inventories on a daily and as needed basis ensuring FIFO is followed.
- Coordinate the pick releases and pick slip for each delivery day by customer and carrier.
- Organizing and coordinating the supply, storage, and distribution of a company's goods or products, and serving as support between departments, customers, and carriers.
- Communicate load requirements both externally and internally to key stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Data analysis, reporting performance, discovering logístical problems and assisting in plans for improvement.
- Assist in investigating and resolve all delivery concerns raised by both the Sales and Retail Departments to ensure that customer satisfaction is maintained and/or improved in accordance with SLAs
- Warehouse pick accuracy and rate reporting
- On time carrier reporting by warehouse and customer
- Inventory movement under the direction of the Logistics Supervisor (RMA’s, sub transfers, etc.)
- Process VQA requirements for sub-inventory movements (Sales Hold, Bottle aging etc.)
- Provide administrative support to the East Logistics Team as required.
- Perform and document all quantity and quality inspections under the direction of Logistics Supervisor
- Provide and strive for excellent internal and external Customer Service.
- Handle misc. receipts/distribution of equipment and materials into Oracle
- Support physical counts at various locations throughout the region as required.
- Track and file all HACCP required documents for Logistics Dept.
- Attend all required meetings under the direction of Logistics Supervisor
- Follow all safe work procedures and practices and report all unsafe work conditions / hazards to the Logistics Supervisor;
- Supporting the warehousing and production teams by assisting with picking/packaging orders when required; and
- Other duties, as assigned.
**Requirements**:
- Post Secondary education in Production/Manufacturing or Business Administration preferred;
- Able to manage large volumes of order processing as measured by order fulfillment and customer satisfaction;
- Proficient in the use of computers, Microsoft, and ERP systems;
- Excellent Interpersonal skills;
- Excellent oral and written communication;
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment;
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, bend, stoop, stand, pull, as required.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including opening and closing the warehouse at the start or at the end of the work day; and
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada without restriction.
