Position Summary:
**Acuren is currently seeking a Regional Controller to support our Operations in Canada.** As a frontrunner in our industry, Acuren is on the lookout for a skilled professional to join our ranks and play a pivotal role in our ongoing achievements. Reporting to the VP of Canada, this position will be based out of our Sherwood Park office and have flexibility as a hybrid role.

**Responsibilities**:
**Financial Reporting and Analysis**
- Generate accurate and timely financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Analyze financial data to provide insights into business performance and profitability.

**Conduct Margin Analytics & Cost Management**:

- Evaluate product and service margins to identify areas for improvement and support pricing strategies.
- Monitor and analyze cost variances to ensure alignment with financial goals.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
- Utilize various analytical tools and techniques to support strategic decision-making.

**Communicate Financial Information**:

- Interpret complex financial information for non-financial peers to ensure understanding.
- Facilitate informed decision-making by providing relevant financial insights.
- Present financial data and insights in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders.

**Budgeting and Forecasting**
- Develop comprehensive annual budgets in collaboration with department heads.
- Ensure budgets align with strategic objectives and financial goals.
- Regularly update forecasts to reflect current business conditions.
- Analyze variances between actual and forecasted results to identify trends and inform adjustments.

**Audits and Compliance**
- Plan and execute client audits to ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
- Identify and address discrepancies, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
- Review and analyze contracts to ensure terms are adhered to and financial implications are understood.
- Identify potential areas for renegotiation or improvement.
- Monitor adherence to standard and local operating procedures.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Proactively seek opportunities to improve financial processes and systems.
- Lead initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.

**Collaboration and Process Improvement**
- Work closely with the VP on various projects and assignments.
- Contribute to process improvements and standardization efforts across the organization.

**Team Management**
- Provide leadership and direction to the regional administrative team.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth.
- Support the development of team members through training, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
- Encourage continuous learning and skill development to enhance team capabilities.

**Requirements**:

- An Accounting Designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA)
- 10+ years of progressive experience in the industrial or commercial sector

- A full understanding of project-based accounting
- Ability to analyze complex financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
- Proficiency in margin analytics and cost management initiatives to support business decision-making.

- Strong leadership skills to manage and mentor a regional administrative team.
- Ability to foster a positive work environment, promote growth, and drive team performance.
- Effective communication and people skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and non-financial peers.

**Compliance and Internal Controls**
- Expertise in ensuring compliance with standard and local operating procedures.
- Ability to conduct client audits and contract analysis, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Implementing and recommending internal controls and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial accuracy and efficiency.
- Strong computer/systems skills; advanced excel as well as system transition/integration experience is an asset.
- Wide-ranging knowledge around commodity tax and payroll rules and regulations
