**Location** - This role is in-person. Work will primarily take place at various University of Alberta locations.

**Working for the Department/Faculty**

The Electrical Key Maintenance Initiatives department supports F&O by providing services focusing around generators, regulatory electrical requirements, commissioning, inspecting and conducting electrical maintenance activities.

**Position**

Reporting directly to the **Foreman-Key Maintenance Initiatives Electrical **this position encompasses the responsibilities of a journeyman electrician along with a number of specialized duties. These specialized duties include:

- Inspection and commissioning of new and renewed electrical systems/components for projects managed by the UofA construction project management team, and installed by Trades Infrastructure & Maintenance (TIM) personnel.
- Review of electrical drawings and specifications for projects installed by either the UofA construction project management team or TIM personnel to insure compliance with construction codes and University design and construction guidelines.
- Assist Facilities & Operations (F&O) Planning Information & Analytics (PIA) maintenance planning personnel with determining equipment asset lists for the CMMS from planning drawings generated by projects installed by either the UofA construction project management team or TIM personnel.
- Assist with the completion of asset input forms as required by PIA maintenance planning personnel.
- Determining impact of various electrical shutdown requests to existing electrical systems and buildings and lead, participate, or may perform energy/service isolations as required by the Owner. Approving shutdown requests.
- Provide technical assistance of an electrical trades nature to the UofA construction project management team, F&O Engineering Technical Services (ETS), Electrical Manager, the KMI Foreman Electrical, and Foreman Electrical Shop.
- Assisting as a primary contact for F&O Asset Specialists in determining updates for VFA reporting.
- Assisting PIA maintenance planning personnel in making CMMS asset information more accurate.
- Assisting the KMI Foreman Electrical in determining appropriate preventive maintenance and spare parts plans.
- Leading the effort on TIM’s behalf to ensure as-built electrical drawings and Operations & Maintenance binders are located in physical and digital storage locations which will require coordination with F&O ETS and the UofA construction project management team.
- Dealing with external contractor issues related to electrical construction and renewal work in U of A buildings.
- Leading, as directed by the KMI Foreman Electrical, the work of receiving, reviewing, redistributing, approving, and replying on planning development documentation generated as a result of projects managed by the UofA construction project management team. Collaborating with ETS in the development of AMO design review feedback to the UofA construction project management team.
- Acting as the Owner’s representative at construction project development meetings, on site inspections, and in commissioning activities related to projects managed by the UofA construction project management team.
- Participates in the On-Call rotation with the electrical shop.
