Full-time salaried position. 37.5 hours per week.

The position is be required to work occasional evenings and weekends.

Open House date/time: Wednesday, November 16th from 11:30am-1:30pm and 5:30pm-7:30pm. We ask that applicants only drop in during these specified times.

**Job summary**

The Fund Development Manager will play a key role in the ongoing success of Almost Home. By organizing events and through participation in outreach activities within the community to raise funds and awareness. This includes attendance at committee meetings and speaking engagements as necessary.

Various events and fundraising initiatives are run by committees comprised almost entirely of volunteers. The role of the Fund Development Manager is to facilitate these volunteer committees, and to develop new fundraising initiatives and to build our volunteer base to assist Almost Home in achieving our fundraising goals. Over the course of a year the Fund Development Manager will work with well over 50 fundraising volunteers who give their time to raise funds for Almost Home.

The Fund Development Manager will ensure good public relations with all stakeholders and is responsible for strategic planning and the execution of all fundraising initiatives.

**Major Responsibilities**
- **Executive Director & Board Support**_
- Provide support and information to Executive Director, Board of Directors and Committees as required.
- Implement programs and policies approved by the Board of Directors.
- Propose and recommend programs and policies to the Executive Director.
- Assist Executive Director with long term planning.

**Fundraising Program**
- Manage fundraising program to meet or exceed budgetary needs of Almost Home.
- Develop and implement annual fundraising strategic plan, including planned giving programs, outreach programs (Belleville, Quinte West, Peterborough) and third-party events.
- Facilitate Almost Home signature events. (Charity Gala & Golf Tournament ).
- Grow corporate sponsorship through ongoing sponsor engagement, research, and proposals.
- Assist with administrative support, coordination, marketing and promotion of all fundraising activities, including special events, sponsorships, and donation campaigns.
- Manage event volunteer recruitment and coordination.
- Assist with the writing and design of all fundraising campaign and promotional materials.
- Compile statistical reports related to fundraising.
- Assist thrift shop with marketing, sales promotions, donation gathering and events, community outreach, and volunteer engagement.
- Evaluate ongoing thrift store sales and work with Executive Director and Thrift Store Manager to optimize operation.
- Develop Yearly Budget for Fundraising Events and YGK Thrift.
- Create and Manage special events when needed (30th anniversary event, one-off events, etc.)
- Promote and communicate with partners operating 3rd party events.
- Work with Thrift Store Manager to define and pursue thrift store opportunities.

**Donor Management**
- Supervise donor stewardship, recognition, acknowledgement and donor communications.
- Identify, initiate and maintain relationships with prospective individual, corporate and Almost Home donors.

**Public Relations**
- Work with the newsletter committee on the collection, editing, writing and lay out of materials for the newsletter.
- Manage relations with media, i.e., writing and distribution of press releases, participation in media interviews, as necessary.
- Develop a strategy to increase Almost Home’s presence on social media to be used in all fundraising efforts and to create awareness about the charity.
- Develop relationships with service organizations, corporate entities, funding institutions, and other organizations for the benefit of Almost Home.
- Speak about Almost Home at various public gatherings, events, and corporate meetings when events may benefit Almost Home.
- Develop relationships with Queen’s University and St. Lawrence College groups to spread awareness about Almost Home and to recruit funders and volunteers.
- Manage thrift store ongoing marketing & community events.

**Administrative Duties**
- Recommends to the Executive Director any needs or expenditures that are outside the approved budget.
- Stand in as a Relief Manager at Almost Home as required.
- Assist in the preparation of the operating budget.
