**About the Role**:
The Principal Risk Business Partner Growth and Projects acts to support the delivery of BHPs growth agenda by optimising our risk support model and acting as a trusted risk advisor for transactions and projects, protecting and creating value through risk expertise, insights, oversight and challenge. The role can be based in Santiago or Saskatoon.
- This role offers the opportunity to make a big impact on a global level. Your accountabilities will include:
- Optimise Risk support model for transactions, projects and new country entry, defining a common approach with tools and templates and clarifying customer interfaces to maximise value, build capability and remove waste
- Support continued integration of risk with strategic decision-making, advising on risk inputs to project and transaction processes
- Provide risk business partner support for select major investment decisions (transactions and projects), providing tools, process, insights and oversight to inform decision-making
- Monitor risk performance, capability and culture to build a deep understanding of relative strengths and gaps to inform action and reporting
- Build project and transaction team risk capability and culture to support sustainable risk outcomes including through coaching, training and storytelling
- Deliver global transaction, projects and new country entry risk priorities in collaboration with the Projects, PS&D and Mins Americas team.

**About You**:

- Professional post graduate risk management qualification through an accredited organisation (preferred)
- Degree in relevant field such as risk, finance, law or business
- Significant experience in risk management in an operational or strategic environment, with extensive knowledge of professional standards (ISO31000, COSO, and RIMS)
- Extensive experience liaising with, and influencing, diverse stakeholder groups spanning functional disciplines, diverse leadership teams from multiple geographies, commodities, jurisdictions, and senior executives.
- Strong analytical skills and evaluative judgment in complicated or novel situations, with attention to detail and quality control to ensure work is factually accurate and free from error.
- Global perspective and understanding of mining and processing industries
