**JOB TITLE**: Bike Builder

**DEPARTMENT**: Backshop

**SUPERVISOR**: Backshop Manager

**GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION**

A Full Cycle Bike Builder is responsible for safely and efficiently building all bikes with impeccable attention to detail. They will be working in a fast-paced environment and need to be able to stay on task to ensure that bikes are being built on schedule.

**MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Building bikes received from the manufacturer for display on the sales floor and for pickup by customers
- Ensuring excellent attention to detail for the safety and proper operation of the bike
- Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of their work area and the backshop

**MINOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Reporting any damage to the bikes being built to the Backshop Manager
- Participating in maintaining a safe work environment at all times
- Helping with minor repairs such as shift/brake adjustments and tube/tire replacements as directed by the backshop manager

**EXPERIENCE**
- Previous bike building experience an asset
- Experience working on bikes in a home environment could be considered an asset

**KEY COMPETENCIES**
- Strong oral and written skills in English (required) and French (preferred)
- Excellent attention to detail
- Basic understanding of bike parts and how they work
- Computer literate
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Passion for bikes is a must

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**
- Able to lift up to 50lbs
- Able to stand for long periods of time

**COMPENSATION**
- Part time, $19.60+ per hour. Compensation will take into consideration previous work experience, years of service, etc. The next step for this role would be to move into a Tent Associate or Junior Mechanic position.
