About the Job

We’re looking for someone with financial services experience to fill the role of Financial Service Specialist.

As a Financial Service Specialist, you will be a vital member of the Financial Services team responsible for supporting the growth of recently launched Checkfront Payments and future financial service offerings. Working with the Director of Financial Services, you will focus on helping to scale both our payments and financial services business with ease, cost effectiveness, and confidence.

As a member of the Financial Services team, you will collaborate and partner with external vendors, Marketing, Product and Development, Technical Support, Finance, Sales, and other cross-functional groups as part of a continuous feedback loop to ensure the best possible experience for Checkfront operators and their customers across the globe.
- Please note the preferred location for this role is Victoria, BC, but we are open to hiring remotely within British Columbia_

Some tasks you’ll be taking on
- Collaborate with financial services leadership to maintain financial services strategy and hit key performance indicators relative to growth
- Lead financial services migration plan by collaborating with Marketing team to map, execute and monitor communication strategy to hit migration targets
- Assist financial services leadership to manage present and future 3rd party relationships by contributing to the operational components of those relationships - including onboarding, escalation, and business-as-usual
- Assist in monitoring and analyzing reports and dashboards that capture deep insights into our financial services business through leading and lagging indicators, visualizations, and early warning mechanisms
- Collaborate with financial services leadership, and product and development to identify and automate routine work where possible, and address longer-term or recurring issues that require fixes
- Identify and problem solve financial services issues by working with financial services leadership and external partners to troubleshoot and resolve
- Identify and analyze inefficiencies in financial services offerings and work with financial services leadership to problem solve
- Troubleshoot and source financial services specific queries while working with key stakeholders including 3rd party vendors to provide solutions in a timely manner
- All other financial services duties as assigned in the fast paced and vastly changing Financial Technology sector

Ideally, you should have
- 3+ years financial services and/or payment industry experience
- 2+ years experience at a high-growth tech company
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or similar
- Strong understanding of economic, and technical factors shaping financial services
- An affinity for systems thinking and continuous process improvement
- Exceptional collaborative, troubleshooting, and deductive reasoning skills
- In depth technical ability to work with excel and other financial analysis tools to provide strong analytical skills capable of identifying and reporting inefficiencies
- Advanced technical troubleshooting and strategic problem-solving skills
