**Position Description**:
The Epic Ambulatory Application Specialist will provide leadership support to optimize workflow processes through maintaining and enhancing the system, tailored to best meet the needs of SickKids staff to provide care for all patients. They will work closely with other teams, internal/external stakeholders to gather and analyze information and specifications regarding processes/workflows; configure the system based on decisions; test the system; develop and document policies and procedures that will support use of the system; and act as a liaison between SickKids end users, Epic and third party vendors to ensure clear communication and understanding of requirements.

- Provide system expertise to address issues and requests to improve and enhance clinical workflows
- Prioritize and implement change requests to the system
- Perform in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with the Epic software
- Investigate end user considerations while making build decisions
- Analyze business operations as they relate to build decisions
- Analyze new functionality in releases to determine how it should be used
- Coordinate software updates and changes
- Review and test each new release
- Collect information regarding potential system enhancement needs
- Prepare details of specifications as needed
- Develop and document project team procedures for implementing system changes and other tasks
- Serve as a liaison between end users, third parties, and Epic technical support staff
- Work with Epic representatives and the organization's business community and end users to ensure the system meets the organization's needs
- Troubleshoot problems and questions from end users

**Here¿s What You¿ll Need**
- Bachelor¿s degree in a clinical discipline/health informatics/information systems/business/computer science/engineering or other related field, or equivalent work experience
- Hospital clinical/research workflow knowledge and strong project management experience
- Previous experience with Epic is an asset
- Previous project/systems implementation experience
- Experience in a health-care environment
- basic understanding of clinical workflows and terminology preferred
- The ability to lead meetings, prioritize, resolve conflicts, maintain issues lists, and manage a project plan
- Strong communication and follow-up skills
- The ability to probe for information about the underlying needs of the organization and user community, which directly influences how the system will be built
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Solution-oriented, critical thinking and the ability to view tasks/issues/requests holistically
- The ability and interest to learn the software and proactively increase knowledge over time
- Eagerness to learn the system and promote it within the organization
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools (Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Understands the importance and demonstrates ability to foster a culture of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills, excellent communication skills, ability to work equally well as a member of a team or independently to carry out project activities, resilience, and creativity are essential
- Innovative, results and detail-oriented

**Employment Type**: Fulltime, 1.5 year CONTRACT with Benefits.
