**Why We Need You**

You’ll play a critical role in making Pelmorex a great place to work You’ll be the first point of contact for all things People Operations-related and ensure the smooth running of our office in Montreal. Your day-to-day will include everything that goes into creating an amazing employee experience and maintaining an orderly office environment. This includes building and maintaining strong, meaningful relationships with teams, supporting people leaders, managing employee questions, and handling employee relations issues. You’re curious, resilient, an inventive problem-solver, who is smart, articulate, and organized, and you use these talents to influence and create. Most importantly, you do not subscribe to the idea of traditional HR and are excited by a ‘different brand’ of HR (People Operations).

**What’s my day-to-day look like?**:

- Understand Core Business Objectives: One of your first goals will be to understand the core business objectives and key People Operations priorities to support their success.
- Program Implementation & Administration: Partner with the team on the implementation and administration of all People Operations programs and activities. Have an idea for a new initiative? We’d love to hear it and see if we can make it happen
- Employee Queries: Respond to employee queries on People policies, programs, benefits, and payroll-related inquiries or requests.
- Manager Support: Connect with managers in your business units to keep a pulse on what is going on within their teams.
- Employee Relations: Serve as a point of contact for employees, addressing HR-related queries and resolving issues promptly.
- Recruitment & Onboarding: Coordinate the recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, interviewing, and onboarding new employees
- Leave of Absence: Manage any leaves of absence including STD, LTD, Maternity and Parental leave
- Continuous Improvement: Make recommendations to continue to evolve and improve the employee experience. Learn our systems, pull reports, and provide analytics related to people metrics.
- Feedback Collection: Conduct various types of interviews/focus groups (exit, stay, new hires, etc.) and analyze themes to make recommendations.
- Compliance & legislation: Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies in Quebec including health and safety. Stay up to date on People Operations practices and compliance trends.
- Translation: Translate English policies and programs into French as needed to ensure compliance and clear communication with all employees. Assist with leading some programs in French as needed.
- ** Office Coordination Duties**:

- Office Management: Oversee daily office operations, including managing office supplies, equipment maintenance, and liaising with vendors.
- Facilities Management: Ensure the office environment is clean, organized, and safe. Coordinate with building management on any facility-related issues.
- Event Planning: Organize company events, meetings, and other team activities.

**Where are you right now?**:

- You have about 3+ years under your belt within People Operations and office administration. You know your current role inside and out, but are ready for a new challenge. You are looking to gain experience partnering with business units and developing strong, meaningful relationships within them.

**What Will You Bring to the Team? (Qualifications)**:

- Undergraduate degree or Diploma/Certificate in Human Resources (preferred).Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in People Operations and office administration.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the HR field, including an understanding of federal and provincial employment regulations, with specific experience in Quebec legislation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of handling sensitive employee relation situations including terminations and leave of absence. Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to handle simultaneous projects with multiple moving parts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; fearless in asking questions and pushing back when needed.
- Pro at prioritizing and thriving in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Passion for creating highly memorable, second-to-none employee experiences.
- Sense of urgency; ability to move fast while keeping everyone looped in and paying attention to important details.
- Comfortable with change, ambiguity, and experimenting. We have big goals but don’t have everything figured out yet. Collaborative team player with a positive attitude.
