Financial Analyst Job Description

The Financial Analyst will be responsible for the full cycle accounting for a number of North American corporate legal entities, including the completion of monthly, quarterly and annual journal entries and related support, completion of account balance reconciliations, assistance with preparing quarterly forecasts and the annual budgets, preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and preparing wire and EFT payments to meet the various needs of their assigned legal entities. This role requires strong attention to detail as well as the ability to multitask in a complex environment.

**As a member of this team, you will be responsible for**:Financial Reporting**:
Maintain a portfolio of legal entities from an accounting and operations finance perspective

Prepare all monthly, quarterly, and year-end journal entries with supporting documentation

Prepare monthly reconciliations of cash, equity, investment property, debt, and intercompany account balances and periodic reconciliation of other general ledger account balances

Coordination of interim and year-end audits for various entities;
Manage cash through the cash cycle. Make recommendations for distributions or contributions as appropriate by monitoring bank balances and updating cash flow forecasts

Prepare steps memos, solvency tests and other documentation necessary to support distributions and contributions

Assist in the preparation of quarterly debt compliance and interest payment working papers

Prepare monthly/quarterly GST/HST/QST analysis and filings

Liaise with other departments, including Treasury, Tax, Legal, Corporate Finance and Asset Management

**Financial Planning & Analysis and Operational Support**:
Prepare and analysis of annual operating plans and quarterly reforecasts for corporate legal entities

**Process Innovation and Controls**:
Participation in projects with a focus on continuous improvement and making recommendations for efficiencies in day to day responsibilities; and

Ensure compliance with Oxford’s processes and controls.

**To succeed in this role, you**:
Have a University degree in accounting or business administration

Have completed or are working towards the CPA designation

Have a minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting, real estate management company experience preferred but not required

Excel in working in a fast pace, dynamic environment and have demonstrated time management and organizational skills, and an ability to prioritize responsibilities

Have experience working in a large international organization with a complex organizational structure and in a multi-currency environment

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required, and exposure to JD Edwards, Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), and Workiva is considered an asset

Are analytical and have the ability to produce analysis with appropriate style and language to support conclusions

Have high attention to detail and accuracy and strong follow-up skills

Have strong written and verbal communication skills

Have strong management skills with a mindset for continuous improvement

Embrace collaborative sharing of knowledge within a team environment

Are driven to achieving results and continuously striving to deliver the highest performance through critical thinking
