Toronto, Canada Accord Financial Corp Full time

**Summary**:This is a hybrid role and will require a minimum of at least one day per week at our corporate office** The Corporate Financial Analyst will primarily support the Finance Manager. As an integral member of the Finance team, the Financial Analyst is responsible for accounting and general ledger activities associated with maintaining ledger accounts and financial statement preparation for three divisions of Accord. This position will ensure that monthly journal entries / processes are completed as per corporate finance closing timelines.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
- Contributes to the effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting.
- Prepares data and supporting information to complete month end analysis, financial reports, variances & accruals.
- Preparation of journal entries, monthly / quarterly reporting packages and financial statements, including applicable tax payments and reconciliations, in accordance with accounting rules and standards.
- Reconcile monthly banking activity.
- Prepares detailed monthly, quarterly and year end work papers, including account reconciliation, to support accurate reporting.
- Provides information and supports the process for internal (e.g. corporate and SOX) and external audits.
- Oversees the process of accounts payable.
- Prepares ad hoc reports as needed.
- Analyzes financial results to support financial period closing and reporting processes and provide insights and recommendations.
- Identifies opportunities for alignment with accounting / finance processes and other operational processes.

**Education / Experience Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar field required.
- Two years plus of relevant experience required.
- Recognized accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of cost allocation methodologies, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis an asset.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
- Attention to detail, self-motivated, organized, and effective communication skills.
- Familiarity with NetSuite, a plus.

**Experience**: Required
- 2 year(s): Two years plus of relevant experience required.

**Education**: Required
- Bachelor's degree or better in Accounting

Preferred
- Bachelor's degree or better in Finance

**Licenses & Certifications**: Preferred
- CPA
