This is an exciting time to be joining and building your career at the Foundations of HSN as the Event Fundraising Specialist, as we have recently seen exceptional momentum and growth. A newly created strategic plan that is rooted in collaboration, growth, and impact has helped guide the organizations in a direction that will support enhancing critical care and research throughout HSN. Our plans are ambitious, because the health needs of the communities HSN serve are significant and important.

Reporting to the Director, Marketing, Communications and Community Engagement, the Event Fundraising Specialist will play a pivotal role overseeing and executing all signature event fundraising efforts of the three Foundations of HSN. This includes working collaboratively with various Foundation team members to build strong relationships to ensure a successful outcome of all events.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**SIGNATURE EVENTS**
- Provide oversight of the planning and execution of all signature fundraising events, including, but not limited to, the Northern Tour for Health, Luncheon of Hope, Rally for Dad, and various golf tournaments, etc. This will include all aspects of event management: fundraising, logistics, critical path management, budget tracking, volunteer recruitment and orientation, committee preparation, administrative tasks, post-event reporting, and other as required
- Record and track participant and donor interactions in Raiser’s Edge
- Produce reports and analyze results using Raiser’s Edge
- Build strong relationships with community groups, corporate sponsors and vendors, etc.
- Develop robust sponsorship packages and secure sponsors for events.
- Build and execute a plan to secure multi-year sponsorship partners for events
- Develop strategies to meet ambitious fundraising goals and achieve revenue growth.
- Explore and use technology to enhance and maximize special event fundraising and online experience
- Lead the development of successful and innovative new event opportunities
- Develop training plans and resources for event volunteers
- Liaise with Volunteer Services to build the special event volunteer base
- Assess event success upon completion and develop recommendations for increasing fundraising and enhancing event participant experience
- Prepare stewardship reports and thank you’s for all event attendees, sponsors, vendors, donors, volunteers, etc.
- Assist with community fundraising, third party events and cause marketing as required
- Work with the marketing team to develop all event related resources as required and ensure all proper branding guidelines are met

**OTHER DUTIES AS REQUIRED**
- Due to the nature of this role, some evening and weekend work may be required.

**EDUCATION AND TRAINING**:

- Experience/Diploma/Degree in event planning, public relations, communications, marketing, business administration or related field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
- Proven experience in event planning with five (5) + years’ experience

**KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES**:

- Team player who has a positive attitude with a strong work ethic, who recognizes the importance of the mission of the Foundations;
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills;
- Demonstrated experience with Special Events and Community Fundraising;
- Ability to work independently and think critically;
- Exceptionally organized with an ability to coordinate multiple projects within tightly prescribed timelines;
- Knowledge of current marketing and social media trends with the ability to implement strategies over various platforms;
- Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects while delivering on schedule;
- Proven ability to use data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements;
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite;
- Knowledge and experience with Raiser’s Edge is considered an asset;
- Valid driver’s license and daily access to a reliable vehicle;
- Bilingualism is a definite asset

**What we offer**:
Salary range of $55,000 - $60,000/annum, excellent benefits plan, participation in the Hospitals of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP), and vacation allowance.
