The role of Human Resources Manager will be responsible for all HR functions, including but not limited to recruitment and selection, onboarding / offboarding, training and development, benefits, and disability management. This position will support the Health & Safety Specialist and will be responsible for WSIB claims management.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:

- Responsible for full-cycle recruitment including updating job descriptions and job postings, posting positions, conducting interviews and coordinating interviews with management, extending offer of employment
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding for employees using internal processes
- Develop and execute human resources initiatives and programs
- Develop relationships and liaise with leadership to fully understand the business operations
- Address inquiries, concerns, or other issues from employees and provide solutions
- Coach managers on people issues including performance management, attendance issues, disciplinary issues, etc.
- Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of our staff
- Assess training needs, deliver HR training, develop HR and leadership training programs, as needed
- Stay up to date on provincial employment legislation
- Ensure / maintain legal compliance on employment matters
- Manage group benefits plan including new hire additions, processing employee changes, and employee terminations
- Liaise with Payroll for all employee changes (hire, termination, salary/wage change, position changes, etc.)
- Effectively manage disability cases to ensure employees receive the benefits that they are entitled to
- Manage return to work programs proactively, working closely with the employee, their supervisors and WSIB
- Nurture a positive working environment
- Work with Health & Safety Specialist to ensure that the workplace and individual job sites are in compliance with provincial health and safety regulations
- Other duties as assigned

**ROLE REQUIREMENTS / ABILITIES**

**Experience / Education**
- 5 years of experience in Human Resources
- Degree / Diploma in Human Resources or related field
- People oriented, results driven, and accountable
- Ability to build and manage relationships at all levels of the organization
- Strong knowledge of labour law and industry HR best practices
- CHRP/CHRL is an asset

**Skills & Abilities**
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Strong computer proficiency with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and presentation skills
- Superior attention to detail
- Ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
- Effective problem-solving skills
- Ability to learn construction processes and terminology
- Highly motivated individual who is a self-starter with an ability to work independently
