**Operations at Brex**

The Operations team is the bridge between our product and our customers. Our priority is to keep our customers happy and their businesses protected, while delivering vital information back to our internal teams. We are responsible for underwriting all of our customers, while simultaneously managing Brex's risk exposures. We work cross-functionally with Risk, Compliance, Data, and Engineering to allow Brex to scale efficiently, keeping quality top of mind.

**What you'll do**

As the Manager of Quality Assurance & Risk and Control Self-Assessment, your primary role will be to oversee and enhance the quality assurance and risk management processes within the organization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas of improvement and implement effective strategies to ensure compliance and mitigate risks. Utilizing a data-driven approach, you will measure the effectiveness of these initiatives and make informed decisions to continuously improve the quality assurance and risk management practices. Building strong relationships across departments is essential, as you will work closely with every function in Operations - including outsourced teams. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in the organization's bi-annual planning process and provide coaching, mentorship, and development opportunities for your team members.

**Responsibilities**
- Continue to develop and implement a comprehensive quality assurance strategy to ensure adherence to established standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Design and execute risk and control self-assessment programs to identify and evaluate key risks, assess control effectiveness, and develop appropriate remediation plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish quality metrics, targets, and performance indicators, and monitor progress towards meeting them.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement, evaluate internal controls, and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide guidance and training to staff members on quality assurance processes, risk management methodologies, and control self-assessment techniques.
- Analyze data and trends to identify potential risks, patterns, and root causes, and provide actionable insights to senior management.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination of quality assurance and risk management initiatives.
- Stay abreast of industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging trends in quality assurance and risk management.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key findings, risks, and recommendations.
- Develop and maintain effective documentation and record-keeping systems related to quality assurance and risk management activities.
- Stay updated on advancements in technology and tools related to quality assurance and risk management, and recommend appropriate solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- Proven experience in quality assurance, risk management, or control self-assessment roles, preferably in a managerial capacity.
- Strong understanding of quality assurance methodologies, risk management frameworks, and control assessment techniques.
- Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards
