We are seeking to fill the position of **Fire Safety Consultant**. This enthusiastic and professional individual will leverage their skills and experience to develop best-practice solutions, while possessing a keen interest in educating clients on fire, safety, and compliance.

**JOB PURPOSE**

Under the supervision of senior staff, the Fire Safety Consultant will independently work on a variety of projects related to Life Safety, Emergency Management, and Fire Safety services.

This position requires an outgoing individual that will collaborate closely with clients to develop and implement real and tangible risk management practices and be a solid resource for Fire Code compliance.

The position requires knowledge of the Fire Codes, Building Codes, related standards, building approvals processes including engagement with Authorities Having Jurisdiction.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

As a Fire Safety Consultant, your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Develop fire safety plans, drawings, floor plans, conduct property assessments and technical reports.
- Provide leadership and guidance to our family of clients in all areas; Commercial, Residential, Industrial, Manufacturing and Mass Assembly.
- Provide technical reports and fire safety program solutions within Fire Codes, Building Codes, related standards, building approvals processes including engagement with Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
- Conduct site inspections, assessments, and reviews, with a keen eye for accuracy and detail.
- Work independently on public safety and public education programs / initiatives.
- Conduct administration duties as required, including the maintenance of customer interactions systems to ensure proper follow-up and project management standards are adhered too.
- Provide superior customer service to clients.
- Represent National Life Safety Group during client and/or public interactions, presentations, plans, assessments, as required.
- Travel to and from client sites is a requirement of this job.
- Other duties, as assigned.

**EDUCATION**
- Fire Protection Engineering Technology Diploma (3YR).
- Fire Protection Engineering Technician Diploma (2YR).
- University or College program related to Fire Safety, Disaster and Emergency Management, and/or Security.

**EXPERIENCE**
- Proficient in AutoCAD.
- Fire Alarm and Fire / Building Code Consulting.
- Design and development of facility Fire Safety Programs.
- Fire Safety Public Education and Program development.
- Project Management experience.
- Deep understanding and knowledge of fire protection and life safety systems.
- Proficient in multitasking numerous projects with a focus on accuracy and customer service.
- Must hold, and maintain, a valid Class G or better Ontario Driver’s License in good standing.

**SKILLS**
- Strong proficiency and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently to meet client project deadlines.
- NFPA 1035 Public Educator Level I / II.
- Superior analysis skills, solutions-oriented and consultative and inclusive in nature.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Ability to manage complex projects and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Works well independently and excels within a team environment.
- Proficient in MS Office products (i.e.: Word, Excel and Outlook)

**OTHER REQUIREMENTS**
- Must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada.
- Must reside in the Greater Toronto Area.
- Have a reliable car and current insurance.
- Be able to achieve Security Clearance Levels, as required.

**WORKING CONDITIONS**

**Remote**: Hybrid Work from home, regular travel required.

**WEEKLY HOURS**

**Full-time.** 40 hours weekly.

Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm

**PAY RANGE**
- A competitive salary will be offered, depending on experience.
- Salary and position will be reviewed annually.
- Upon impressive performance, there is room for growth, advancement and improved financial renumeration.

**Salary**: $21.00-$29.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
