Calgary Catholic Immigration Society (CCIS) is seeking a Coordinator of Language Interpretation Services to play a pivotal role in facilitating seamless communication between our clients, staff, and the community. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee and manage all aspects of our Interpretation and Translation services, ensuring professional and accurate first language services are provided to our clients, allowing them to access services, resources, and supports effectively, in a culturally safe manner.

Our Fee for Service program is committed to providing high quality interpretation and translation services to clients and the broader community. As the Coordinator, you will play a key role in facilitating effective communication and fostering a welcoming environment for our diverse clients and communities.

**Primary Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:
**_ Coordination and Service Management**
- Oversee the implementation plan for the program which includes the recruitment, training, monitoring, follow up and support of interpreters.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the program which include the management of a team of professional language interpreters.
- Liaise with clients, community partners, and staff to assess language service needs and requirements.
- Schedule and coordinate interpreters and translators to meet service demands promptly.
- Maintain a roster of qualified language professionals and ensure they adhere to agency standards and protocols.
- Develop and implement systems for tracking service requests, ensure prompt response times.

**_ Quality Assurance**:

- Conduct regular evaluations and performance assessments of Interpreters and Translators
- Implement training and professional development opportunities to enhance language professionals’ skills.
- Monitor the quality of interpretation and translation services to maintain accuracy and cultural responsiveness.
- Address and resolve any issues or complaints related to language services in a timely and satisfactory manner.

**_ Collaboration and Community Engagement**
- Collaborate with other program coordinators and departments to integrate language services effectively.
- Engage with community organizations and stakeholders to promote our services and build partnerships.
- Represent the agency in relevant community events and initiatives to increase awareness of language support programs.

**_ Program Development and Growth**
- Identify opportunities for program growth and enhancement based on client needs and feedback.
- Propose new services or initiatives to address emerging language barriers and promote inclusivity.
- Identify and develop relationships with industry professionals to generate new business opportunities.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with complimentary community-based services.

**_ Reporting and Documentation**
- Undertake financial management functions of the program which enhances the sustainability of the program.
- Prepare progress reports for management, highlighting achievements and areas of improvement.
- Actively participate in the evaluation of the program
- Maintain accurate records of language services utilization, client feedback, and program outcomes.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in management, communication, marketing or a combination of relevant experience and education
- Experience in project management is a definite asset.
- Preference will be given to individuals connected to ethno-cultural communities and groups.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Understanding and appreciation of the service needs of various community and ethnos cultural groups
- Experience in the settlement process of newcomers
- Experience and ability to collaborate effectively with the community.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and self-starting tendencies
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, 365, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
- Some after-hours and weekend work could be required.
