Certified Phlebotomist

**Responsibilities**:
- Collect blood samples by venipuncture
- Able to go to differnet places and work as a Mobile Phlebotomist.
- Ability to work independently with a high degree of initiative
- Able to work without direct supervision
- Excellent telephone manners and proven communication skills
- Dealing with patient concerns, difficult draws, or complaints /situations
- Ensure that standards for technical efficiency, and quality control are met, and Ministry of Health and other government regulations are adhered to
- Ensures all necessary documentation is collected, completed, logged, and specimens are correctly processed.
- Routine disinfecting of work area and equipment is to be completed on a routine/scheduled basis
- Responsible to protect their Health and Safety by reporting hazards and working in compliance with standard Safe Working Practices
- Ensure patient safety and dignity at all times
- Responsible to preserve and safeguard all confidential information that comes to their knowledge in the course of completing services on company’s behalf
- Responsible to observe and comply with company guidelines and all applicable legal requirements with respect to confidential information and the protection of privacy
**Working Conditions**:
- Work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to respond to changing priorities
- Ability to work under time pressures
- Required to lift transport specimen bags, equipment, supplies and waste from different locations.
- Carry items up flights of stairs and in and out of buildings
- Driving is required
**Qualifications and Skills**:
- Certification or degree required: MLT-MLA-LPN-RN
- CPTG certification
- Previous venipuncture experience required: minimum of 6 months
- Nursing Home experience an asset
- A Valid driver’s license and a vehicle is a must
- Demonstrated skill in phlebotomy, with the ability to manage anxious patients through the sample obtaining process in a pleasant, calming and reassuring manner
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, at a level that enables you to communicate instructions, clearly and understandably, to patients
- Proficiency in other languages is an asset
**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $24.00-$26.00 per hour

**Experience**:
- phlebotomy: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- CPTG certificate (preferred)
