The opportunity
The Manager, Enterprise Stress Testing, is primarily responsible for the production and analytics of the risk parameters used for IFRS-9 ECL, IRB approach and Standardized approach under BASEL III Reform with both base and stressed scenarios. This includes the generation of the production risk parameters for downstream calculators, reconciliation with data sources, analysis of risk parameter change drivers, and the implementation of the new models and control processes. The bases case is used for regular reporting. For stress testing and ICAAP, the risk parameters are generated under various scenarios, which are either prescribed by regulators or internally designed.
In our journey to be a model enabled bank, this position will also support BCAR reporting, Pillar II capital demand production, IFRS-9 reporting.
Areas of focus
Accountability #1 - Business Lead Responsible for Delivery of Strategic Roadmap- Leveraging approved project plans and initiative roadmaps, Sr. Manager will act as the business lead partnering with a cross-functional team to deliver on various work streams, discovering opportunities for further growth, optimization, and results realization, primary focus on Motive Financial-
- Partnering with project manager, produce regular updates on project milestones along with benefits/KPIs- Provide business input and influence over portfolio KPIs (with Analytics, Marketing and Product) including and not limited to: product penetration rates, balances, fee revenue, customer metrics, cancellation rates, account closures, channel and product mix profitability
Accountability #2 - Identify and Deliver on New Growth Opportunities- Leverage insights from analytics, product and marketing teams to identify growth opportunities to deliver elevated business and client results. Including definition of untapped client segments, expanding our client base, create stickier customers and improve NPS scores- Responsible for the development of business cases and strategic plans for new initiative programs with understanding of how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions- Leverage financial and customer data to identify, size, recommend and implement short-term and longer-term revenue generating initiatives to improve unit economics, NIM and client propositions- Responsible to Identify and capture opportunities with sales partners in order to exceed our annual targets - customer metrics and business metrics
Accountability #3 - Own Innovation Roadmap and Competitive Insights- Actively study innovative players in the industry and beyond, uncovering potential innovations for the target segments/business areas of focus (e.g. digital retail banking)- Establish an ongoing study of the competitive set, capturing news worthy changes, tracking gaps and opportunities, and exposing the Client Solutions team to updates- Identify new technology opportunities to accelerate business and client outcomes, e.g. use of AI and automation tools
Accountability #4 - People and Culture Focus- Communicate and align interests with all stakeholders and champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge- Lead and elevate high performing project teams, providing support, strategic guidance, and exposure to team successes and progress
Successful incumbent
Education- Bachelor’s degree with a major in business management or finance- MBA or advanced degree, and/or a consulting background preferred
Professional Experience- 8+ years of retail and business banking experience, preference with exposure to digital banking- Desired expertise across P&L management, client and portfolio growth, sales strategies, and analytics- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams, providing day-to-day / strategic support to elevate results
Personal Competencies- Solid experience operating in ambiguous settings and operating environments- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead complex programs across multiple stakeholder
