**RYGIEL **_Supports for Community Living _**is currently recruiting for a **Development Officer**.

**Reporting to: Executive Director**

**Location: Hybrid **Model (60% On-site/40% Home)**

**Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week (Perm. Full-time)**

RYGIEL Supports for Community Living serves people who have a developmental disability and multiple handicaps. The services are determined by a person’s individual needs and are designed to enable each person to be a fulfilled participatory member of the community.

**Position Summary**:
The Development Officer is responsible for Rygiel’s fundraising and donor programs, relationship management, community engagement initiatives, volunteer relationships and student placements.

This position requires a sound understanding of the not-for-profit sector and the ability to leverage an existing network of partners, donors, volunteers and stakeholders to promote Rygiel’s mission and vision and social role valorization within the community. The Development Officer will have a team-oriented approach and be able to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. All aspects of the job are to be completed consistent with the agency values and beliefs.

**Job Duties & Responsibilities**:
Fundraising and Donor Program, Relationship Management
- Develop and implement an annual fundraising strategy with financial targets and progress updates.
- Maintain current existing fundraising initiatives and create fresh ideas to sustain programs.
- Manage the Database (Little Green Light): document and track donations, distribute targeted impact letters and appreciation letters at strategic times, issue tax receipts and record all points of connection.
- Develop a stewardship strategy and implement the communication plan throughout the year.
- Leverage current resources to continue to promote and create new leads.
- Organize fundraising and community events to promote Rygiel with new and current donors.
- Research grant opportunities in database, prepare letters of interest and follow up.
- Develop full grant proposals for potential donors.
- Plan and coordinate fundraising and community events utilizing resources of donor support, operational partnerships and volunteer networks: annual golf tournament, dinners, auctions, Christmas Market.

Community Engagement Initiatives
- Build on existing network to strengthen and create new partnerships within the community.
- Researches event opportunities to raise awareness about Rygiel within the community and procure minor donations and potential volunteers.
- Facilitate Rygiels’ presence on social media platforms (ie. TikTok, Facebook and Instagram) and other mediums to promote community engagement activities.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to create content for social media and newsletters for community relationship building and engagement.
- Understanding and willingness to learn and promote Social Role Valorization to raise awareness within the community.

Volunteer Relationships
- Develop and actively participate in Rygiel’s Volunteer Program: maximize and capitalize on a solid network of volunteers, promoting opportunities, activities and services to entice potential volunteers.
- Recruit and retain volunteers by establishing orientation workshops outlining the organizations values, mission and vision.
- Motivate and publicly recognize volunteer’s contribution to Rygiel and the people supported.
- Evaluate and quality manage the Volunteer Program.

Student Placements
- Develop and maintain partnerships with academic institutions and relevant academic programs.
- Facilitate Student Co-operative Placements; recruit and select qualified students, orient students and maintain communication with students and staff throughout the placement term.
- Establish orientation workshops outlining the organizations values, mission and vision.

**Education, Skills & Experience**:

- Relevant post-secondary education in Fundraising and Project Management certificate (preference in charity organizations) or relevant qualifications, skills and experience in marketing, public relations and communications or area of Project Management.
- Experience working in the human services setting in Ontario with a strong awareness of current affairs and trends within the developmental sector is an asset.
- Experience in grant database utilization (ie. Foundation Search), letters of interest, etc.
- Experience in CRM software (ie. Little Green Light), tracking and maintaining.
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising initiatives, grant writing, research and prospect development.
- Confident public speaker, capable of presenting Rygiel and the mission and vision to potential new leads.
