This position is located in Concord, Ontario.
Relocation my be provided.
Essential Duties, Critical Success Factors, Responsibilities, Authorities and Required Interactions:
Works individually as well as with scientific and engineering teams to ensure that projects remain on track. Assembles instruments, initiates studies, generates reports, presentations, and publications. Work is aligned to project deliverables. Creativity and innovation are required, expected, and encouraged.
Scope of the role is from early phase research to sustainment of recently launched products.
Defines improvements and innovations related to ion traps and nominal mass analyzers and works with engineering teams to implement and test.
Develops and tests models to support theoretical predictions.
Communicates effectively with internal and external collaborators.
Conducts hands on troubleshooting of project instruments to solve a range of technical issues.
Works with scientists and engineers to identify risks related to new technologies and proposes and tests a range of possible solutions.
Represents the company at international conferences and supports marketing efforts as necessary.
Carries out the technical evaluation of novel hardware and software solutions.
**Education and/or Work Experience Requirements**:
Higher level Science degree in a related field such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry etc, Ph.D. preferred
Broad background and knowledge of ion movement, mass analyzer technology, and ion traps
Greater than 5 years of experience working on commercialization projects related to mass spectrometry
Proven track record of working effectively with multifunctional teams
Proven track record of innovation and patent generation preferred
Excellent communication and facilitation skills
Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
Proven team player, with strong collaboration skills
Excellent time-management skills, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with little supervision
