An Application Scientist is responsible for ensuring that customer needs are met in Mass Spec R&D product development. This position will be responsible for:
Supporting the development of new LCMS hardware and software products by actively engaging and educating cross-functional project teams on features and workflow usage and helping define product requirements and specifications.
Evaluating/improving/maturing technologies and new mass spectrometry-based systems to ensure that the target customer needs are being met.
Aid in the support of new mass spectrometry-based hardware and software products once they have been launched including training SCIEX staff and generating data to support launch. Assist in response to field escalations, as necessary.
**Education and/or Work Experience Requirements**:
Advanced degree in appropriate scientific field.
5+ years hands on experience working with LC/MS.
**Additional Requirements**:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must communicate effectively with project team and stakeholders.
Ability to work with a diverse team and possibly remote teams.
Good analysis, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to multi-task and juggle competing priorities.
Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
Quick learner, innovative, proactive, flexible, and adaptable.
Willing to seek out knowledge in technically/scientifically relevant areas.
