Activate is a tech company known for creating Canada’s first full-scale interactive gaming facility. We are experiencing significant expansion, and are looking to expand our team with the addition of a Communications Leader. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing and implementing Activate’s communication strategies and lead our social media and graphic design team. This is a full-time, permanent position that will evolve with the growth of the organization.

**The Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Communications_
- Manages, develops, and implements communications programs that effectively describe and promote the organization and its products; and supports the coordination of public relations to ensure the organization's reputation is upheld
- Oversees and coordinates the work of the creative staff and communications vendors; and manages the production of a full range of communications products and publications, from draft creation through the final product, to support the goals of the organization
- Coordinates and manages the development and production of communications materials, which may include press releases, proposals, presentation materials, information brochures, internal and external correspondence, reports, speeches, policies, procedures, solicitation, and marketing materials
- Marketing_
- Plans, develops, and implements a company's overall creative content marketing strategy based on specific goals and objectives
- Manages a team of content creators who work to increase web traffic and brand awareness through the marketing of online and offline content
- Develops shareable content, distributes the content on appropriate platforms, and measures the results of marketing activity to help with future marketing campaigns.
- Organizes digital content strategies across all online platforms
- Drives traffic and engagement that translates to sales and brand promotion
- Develops and manages the content marketing budget

**The Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English or related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Communications and/or Marketing
- Management experience preferred
- Must possess excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication with strong writing and editorial abilities
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, internet, media monitoring software, and other public relation tools
- Must be able to meet tight deadlines and execute flawlessly on projects in a fast-paced, often pressured environment and see a project through to completion
- Must have the ability to be an influential communications consultant within the organization
- Must be capable of maintaining confidentiality, with a high level of accuracy regarding information
- The ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders and work effectively with all levels of employees is critical
