**Location**

This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person, with on site work primarily taking place at Enterprise Square, Edmonton.

**Position Summary**

The Functional Analyst troubleshoots and resolves transactional system issues leveraging their broad expertise across numerous systems, including understanding the interconnectedness of these systems as the role supports Shared Services and stewards more systems.

**Duties**
- Participates in system upgrades, the design and development of new modules and/or processes, and the implementation of new solutions that will enhance business processes and user experience.
- Performs testing by interpreting and executing test scripts, recording results, analyzing test activities and results, and identifying and reporting issues and risks. Validates test results using queries and system data as appropriate. Follows up on deviations and re-tests outcomes of fixes in order to obtain final sign off as required.
- Configures HCM tables and third-party systems to support operations in alignment with business requirements. This includes coordinating annual processes necessary for cyclical business activity and maintaining/updating configurations as necessary throughout the cycle.
- Conducts first-stage investigations into issues raised by faculty and staff. Collect Relevant information to identify the source of the issue, formulate a solution and/or document complex issues for follow up by the Director HR Services, IST Enterprise Applications, and/or IBM.
- Supports and implements process automation scripts to automate high volume rules based processes and tasks
- Investigates and analyzes data requests to determine expected outcomes, business/stakeholder requirements, and the best method for generating and accessing the information.
- Informs the identification of key performance indicators that can support the measurement and monitoring of business performance toward strategic goals.
- Utilizes a variety of tools including PeopleSoft Query, Benthic Golden, Tableau to execute and/or modify/design simple queries and reports to produce data from PeopleSoft or other relevant systems as required or requested.
- Ensures the data is protected at all times. Follows data security protocols defining who can request data, what data can they obtain and for what purpose.
- Runs, compiles and analyzes data for completeness and accuracy where an operational report or automated report are insufficient.
- Supporting and facilitating cross functional knowledge transfer, training, and mentorship.
