Waymarc Industries Ltd. is a leading distributor of Industrial Storage Systems. We design, supply, and install storage shelving, pallet racking, mezzanines, and workstations. Established since 1975, we offer innovative solutions to all our customer’s storage needs with branches in Edmonton, Calgary, and Saskatoon.
We are looking for a Controller, based out of the Edmonton branch.
Reporting directly to the Owner/President, this position will assume a strategic role in the overall management of Waymarc by providing financial leadership to the organization to achieve its growth objectives. The Controller will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial-related activities of the business.
- **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**_
- Responsible for the full monthly accounting cycle of the three branches and overall company, including payables, receivables, bank reconciliations, journal entries, inventory, fixed assets, and taxes.
- Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to support operational requirements and optimize financial performance.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and related management reports.
- Responsible for the company payroll including commissions, benefits and paid time off
- Evaluate and extend credit terms to customers.
- Manage insurance coverage for the organization, including compliance.
- Responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of financial information to appropriate groups, including internal parties, government regulators, and outside agencies.
- Develop and maintain an appropriate system of policies, internal controls, accounting standards, and procedures.
- Develop and coordinate all relationships with financial institutions as required.
- **QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS**_
- CPA designation is required.
- 5+ years of experience
- Adaptability and ability to problem solve.
- Strategic mindset
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite & ERP’s
- Must be able to proportionately divide time as needed among all responsibilities in order to meet daily expectations.
- Demonstrated ability to produce high quality work with an exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work a Monday - Friday, 8am to 5pm shift
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills
