Our client has an immediate need for a **Controller**.

**The Position**

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller will be responsible for leading the accounting activities for the company. The Controller is a senior leader who is a change agent and driver of innovation, willing to challenge the status quo from both an operational and team perspective. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the company continues building a high level finance department while partnering across the business to ensure our systems and processes are running smoothly. The Controller is responsible for all aspects of financial management, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, as well as the ethical development and oversight of internal control policies and procedures.

**Key Attributes**

The Controller will possess excellent analytical skills, enabling them to interpret complex financial data and provide insights for strategic decision-making. Effective communication and leadership abilities are crucial, as this position will oversee a team of accounting staff and work closely with other departments. Adaptability and the ability to stay current with evolving financial standards and technologies are essential to succeed in this role.

**Key Responsibilities **_(including but not limited to):_
- Assist the CFO with financial functions, including financial reporting, asset management, cash flow management, forecasting, tax planning, and short and long-term strategic financial and business planning
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff so they perform their duties at the highest level to meet company objectives and needs
- Prepare financial reports, including monthly financial statements, quarterly forecasts, an annual budget, and 5-year plan
- Provide financial analysis
- Establish and oversee all departments budget planning, monthly reviews, quarterly reviews and annual reviews
- Provide oversight/liaison with external audit/providers and oversee/coordinate the year-end audit process with the goal of receiving an unqualified audit opinio
- Oversee all accounts payable and receivable functions; monitor cash balances and ensure timely collection of client receivables and ensure the company can meet its financial obligations
- Establish and maintain financial and accounting databases
- Maintain accurate financial and accounting records in accordance with government and corporate standards
- Maintain property and equipment records, including depreciation schedules
- Recommend and implement proper accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Reporting to management on the financial operations of the operating companies, the group; identify areas of opportunity and make quantitative and qualitative recommendations based on the information
- Risk management and corporate governance

**Education & Experience**
- Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience as a financial controller
- CPA designation
- In depth knowledge of accounting principals and procedures
- Project reporting experience
- JDE experience would be an asset
- Strong proficiency with English language, both verbal and written
- Strong computer skills in various Microsoft Office programs

**Salary**: $130,000.00-$140,000.00 per year
