**ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY**
The Language Program Administrator supports the Ministry of Culture, Heritage and Language’s Language programming by assisting in the development of resources, events, and programming to support learning opportunities for Métis citizens in BC. The Language Program Administrator works closely with the Ministry Manager to improve access to language resources and Michif language experiences for citizens based on best practices. The Language Program Administrator participates as a critical member of the Ministry of Culture, Heritage and Language team to create solutions that advance the successful, efficient, and effective creation and dissemination of resources and services to Métis people in BC.

The Language Program Administrator provides multifaceted support for the development and distribution of various learning opportunities, resources, and initiatives to preserve and promote Métis culture and language. This includes aiding in the design of learning resources and engagement opportunities, coordinating contracts with resource developers and facilitators, managing financial records, and providing support to citizens and contractors for effective coordination of events and programming. Additionally, the Language Program Administrator is expected to conduct research and engage in relationship building with citizens, Michif language champions and like-minded institutions to stay apprised of best practices in language revitalization resource development and program delivery. Building relationships with stakeholders, promoting cultural competency, and participating in professional learning opportunities are also part of the responsibilities.
