Polyglots provides fun, activity based language learning opportunities for children ages 5-11. We have Summer Camps running from July 10-August 25th, 2023 with training provided July 3-7. We are seeking applicants to be language play leaders at our Summer Camps

The Camp Leader will be responsible for working with Day Camp staff and the Camp Director to deliver a Safe, fun, physically active and educational day camp experience. As lead counselor, you will plan and lead daily activities for campers ranging in age from 5-11 years old at a French language immersion summer program. Activities will be in person and include: sports, drama, games, art, and STEM activities. Leaders will be confident in their interactions with children, as well as parents. They will work in conjunction with the Camp Director and other instructors to provide a safe and optimal experience for all children under their supervision.

1. Implementation of the daily camp programs for children ages 5-11 years

2. Ensure the health and safety of the children participation in the camp program

3. Create a fun, physically active and educational day camp experience for all campers

4. Monitor and provide care for the children participating in the camp program

5. Provide and actively participate in all camp related activities (i.e. games, crafts)

6. Implement required tasks, such as set up and clean up and other day to day camp operations as directed by the Camp Director

7. Act as a positive role model and leader at all times

8. Encourage camp participants to follow proper hygiene and cleanliness

9. Build positive relationships with camp staff, participants and parents and/or caregivers

10. To follow all policies and procedures as required

11. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Postsecondary training in Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth Worker, Recreation Leadership, Social Service Worker, Social Work or a Social Service field.

3. Good health, enthusiasm, and willingness to actively participate in activities with campers.

4. Experience working with children and parents.

5. Strong team experience and organizational and problem solving skills.

6. Experience and sensitivity in working with a multi-cultural community.

7. Good communications skills.

8. Bilingual (English/French) is required.

9. 1st aid/CPR training.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract, Seasonal
Contract length: 6 weeks

**Salary**: From $16.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends

Supplemental pay types:

- Bonus pay
