**Health Safety and Environment (HSE) Coordinator (2 Positions) (Bilingual or French Required/Location Negotiable)**

We have offices in Edmonton, Alberta, Montreal, Quebec and Phoenix, Arizona to support our operations across North America.

**Position Summary**:
Our team is currently seeking an HSE Coordinator to assist with an exploration project located in the James Bay Region in Quebec.

**Responsibilities of the HSE Coordinators**:

- Promote the Health and Safety Program on-site and engage with various stakeholders, by being a safety champion that leads by example
- Assist with the day-to-day HSE management and compliance to the project Health, Safety and Environment Program
- Report unsafe work practices to the HSE Site Manager
- Monitor and respond to environmental impacts related to the project
- Provide site-specific safety training and orientation for workers that are new to site
- Respond to incidents and assist with incident investigations as required
- Communicate HSE-related information to workers on-site
- Help to maintain site safety records, weekly reporting of trends and outcomes
- Advise HSE Site Manager on safety documentation and assist with developing: Emergency Response Plans, Activity Hazard Assessments, Job Safety Analysis, and Safe Work Practices
- Participate in daily tailgate meetings
- Complete daily inspections and internal audits as required; attend compliance and safety update meetings as necessary.
- Wear and properly use a variety of personal protective Equipment (PPE). Including: respirators, skin, eye, ear, hand and foot protection in a variety of combinations depending on work duties
- Follow all local, provincial, and federal compliance regulations and rules

**Working Conditions**:

- Atmospheres and locations with the potential for exposure to various chemical, physical, and psychological hazards
- A wide range of temperatures, both indoors and outdoors, and in all weather conditions
- Work in potentially elevated noise level environments, confined or restricted spaces, and areas with no cell service
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Comfort driving on rough terrain in a variety of weather conditions

**Qualifications**:

- 1+ years of experience working in Health, Safety and Environment roles
- Knowledge and understanding of La Commission des normes, de l'équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CNESST) and workers compensation legislations
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and complex environment
- Be a proactive and flexible team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to reassess priorities on an ongoing basis
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- Bilingual in French and English or French speaking
- Standard First Aid and CPR
- Physical ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Experience working around or with heavy machinery, in industrial or field environments
- CRST or certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
- An understanding of exploration drill programs and associated on-site activities
- Familiarity with safety software an asset
