**Purpose**:
North Star is one of Canada’s leading manufacturers of windows, patio doors and entry door systems. We are a dynamic, forward-thinking company that offers growth opportunities and exceptional learning experiences. Due to continued exceptional growth in our business the time has come for us to add to our Human Resources staff. At North Star, the Human Resources function is a multi-faceted business partner that supports the needs of the organization, its business strategy and its people. We are looking to add a Human Resources Generalist that will assist in enhancing the service that we provide.

**Qualifications**:

- Post Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management or Bachelor’s degree in HR, business or related field
- Expertise in HR policies and procedures
- Strong knowledge in hiring practices
- Understanding of HR best practices and current regulations
- Sound judgment and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently
- Experience with payroll processes
- Experience with health and safety practices, policies and regulations
- Customer-focused attitude, with a high level of professionalism and discretion
- Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics and cultural awareness
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills
- Experience with Dayforce HCM is considered an asset

**Job Functions**:

- Provide service and advice on employee issues to supervisors and department managers in regard to performance management, orientation, employment legislation, payroll, communication and/or procedures, also to ensure that fairness is used to with both management and employee.
- Respond to, investigate and report on a variety of management and employee concerns
- Answer employee questions and address employee concerns with the company; including employee safety concerns
- Provide support in implementing programs to help improve the employee experience, including identifying ways to improve policies and procedures
- Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new employees, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience
