There are a variety of Supportive Housing and Shelter Worker positions available:

- **Supportive Housing and Shelter Worker **is centered in our Supportive Housing and Shelter locations and includes the work of helping people to navigate their daily living in communal living environments. We have a number of supportive housing and shelter locations around Kitchener and Waterloo with shift times ranging between days, afternoons and nights.
- **Outreach Worker **offers hospitality and problem solving for a wide range of people who are experiencing homelessness or who are at risk of homelessness. We focus on welcoming people with generosity and kindness, work to strengthen access to community supports, support people to navigate systems and we problem-solve the many complexities people face - in our drop-in space and in the community (encampments, motels, shelter, and housing).

Housing, Shelter and Outreach workers respond to the support needs of people who are street involved, often dealing with the complexities of substance use, lack of affordable housing, mental health issues, and challenges navigating complex systems. The work is highly relationship-based, always challenging and changing, and responds to the needs of the people we support.

Housing, Shelter and Outreach workers are responsive, truly enjoy being with people, have a good understanding of collaboration and team work, and are not set on following standard routines in their work. The positions require taking a trauma informed approach, and working from a philosophy of harm reduction. Attention to detail and follow-through is very important, as we navigate income supports, healthcare, housing and legal issues. We form a responsive group, collaborating strongly with other agencies and within the projects of The Working Centre.

This work is more than a job - it is about committed community work in a collaborative environment. Position starts at $22.31/hour; generous benefit package after 3 months for full-time work. Part time work is also available.

- Kitchener, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
