**Manufacturing Operations Manager - West Four Group of Companies**

West Four Group of Companies, a leader in the Western Canadian market, specializes in the supply of doors, hardware, and building specialties. With trade brands including Security Building Supplies, Madero, Penner Doors & Hardware, Two Six Creative, and West Four Distribution, we boast facilities across Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Red Deer, Regina, and Winnipeg. We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Operations Manager for our Edmonton location. This pivotal role reports directly to the Vice President of Operations.

**Role Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Strategically plan and execute operational strategies that align with the company's overarching goals and objectives, participating actively as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
- Manage day-to-day operations with a focus on fostering a safety culture, efficient resource allocation, budget management, and performance monitoring.
- Drive process optimization, operational efficiency, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Develop, establish, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for assessing operational performance and informing strategic decision-making.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to align operations with sales, engineering, and project management efforts, ensuring customer demands are met and business targets are achieved.
- Implement risk management and business continuity plans to address operational disruptions effectively.
- Ensure strict compliance with industry regulations and standards.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key suppliers, vendors, and partners to ensure smooth supply chain operations.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices to foster innovation within the manufacturing division.
- Lead weekly team meetings to discuss strategic plans and address any concerns.

**Financial and Budgetary Responsibilities**:

- Oversee the expense management for the division, collaborating closely with the Finance team to enhance expense efficiency.
- Participate in budget preparation and financial reviews, working alongside various departments to ensure optimal financial performance.
- Monitor sales performance in relation to operational efficiency and objectives.

**Communication and Staff Management**:

- Engage in regular dialogue with Sales Management and key representatives to address issues, upcoming events, and manage open order files.
- Attend monthly meetings with Operations Managers from other locations to share and implement best practices.
- Exhibit exceptional leadership, conflict resolution, and communication skills, ensuring seamless interaction across all company departments.

**Customer Relations**:

- Maintain professional and effective communication with customers, ensuring staff professionalism in interactions and presentations at customer-facing events.

**Staffing and Training**:

- Oversee the recruitment, interviewing, and training processes for new hires. Relevant sales managers will be involved in all sales related decisions.
- Ensure comprehensive onboarding, including the review and signing of all necessary employee documentation.
- Conduct semi-annual performance reviews, managing HR responsibilities and fostering peak performance within the team.

**Qualifications**:

- A minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing management, with at least 5 years in a senior role.
- Demonstrated success in optimizing operations, driving process improvements, and achieving strategic objectives.
- Strong financial acumen with budget management expertise and proficiency in relevant operational software and ERP systems.
- Desirable experience includes steel fabrication, welding, custom manufacturing, production flow optimization, inventory forecasting, vendor negotiations, and risk analysis.
- Comprehensive knowledge in manufacturing health and safety, equipment maintenance, cost analysis, and capital investment strategies.

**Salary**: $95,000.00-$125,000.00 per year
