Manufacturing Supervisor

Reflex Manufacturing Ltd is seeking a passionate and experienced individual to join our team.
The Manufacturing Supervisor reports to the Senior VP, VP of Administration and the President. The primary role is to maintain the overall workflow within the shop; ensure all employees comply with company policies, procedures, and standards; ensure the effectiveness of employees through strategic hiring; ensure all employees adhere to all health and safety regulations; and oversee the whole manufacturing process to ensure high standards and efficiency.
**What you will be doing**:
- Oversee compliance with company policies and standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, complete and on-time delivery.
- Oversee departmental outputs, ensuring they meet production schedules, safety, and quality standards, as well as customer needs.
- Oversee all manufacturing and processing procedures, the setting of machine or equipment control, as well as the production and inspection process.
- Assist in the development or amendment of quality control and process documentation to optimize productivity while enhancing quality.
- Coordinate activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and delegating work according to the production schedule.
- Review all jobs/AutoCAD drawings before they are released into fabrication. Verify specifications on all jobs and communicate job-specific instructions to shop staff as needed.
- Manage and monitor inventory including weekly raw materials and monthly consumables inventory counts.
- Report any material issues or defects to management.
- Ensure the schedule updates are being regularly communicated to office administration.
- Be able to backfill any position in the shop and assist where needed.
- Ensure the effectiveness of employees through strategic hiring, assignment of duties, discipline, and dismissal.
- Provide leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training and development.
- Handle shop employee complaints and incidents, including conflict resolution, and health and safety concerns.
- Assist in the review and approval of employee time off requests.
- Administer disciplinary action in accordance with established procedures.
- Ensure all employees with proper use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Ensure that employees adhere to all health and safety regulations. Follow Safe Work Practices (“SWPs”), Safe Job Procedures (“SJPs”), and Standard Operating Procedures (“SOPs”) established for all tasks.
- Contribute to the review and development of SWPs, SJPs, and SOPs, as well as hazard identification.
- Participate in workplace inspections and investigations as well as Joint Health and Safety Committee.
- Conduct monthly Safety Meetings and lead daily Safe Start meetings and daily Safe End briefings.
- Assisting in producing employee modified work agreements and monitor any employee who is under such an agreement.
- Keep a supervisor’s log to document any issues or concerns with production and safety.
**To be successful in the role you will need the following**:
- 3-5 years of experience managing employees and their production in manufacturing setting
- The ability to lead a diverse group of team members from various backgrounds and ethnicities
- Excellent communication skills (verbal or written), interpersonal skills and positive work ethic
- Team player, be able to work cooperatively with others to reach a common goal
- Detail oriented and quality focused in the accomplishment of tasks
- Adaptable to changing priorities and accountable for personal workload
- Strong computer skills (MS Office suite)
- Willingness to learn and lead
- Able to assist, eventually to be trained on all aspects within the shop
- Experience with quality control is an asset
