**Theatre Technician.**

We are looking for motivated individuals to join our **Production Team**, with the talent, innovative-thinking

Reporting to the **Technical Director, Theatre Technicians **will be responsible for providing technical
assistance and expertise in operating the Betty Oliphant Theatre, Currie Hall and other venues at NBS, both
for the School and for rental events. Skills & knowledge in the areas of lighting, audio, sound & stage rigging
are important aspects of these positions. Knowledge of health and safety practices is a definite asset.

**Major Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Operation of rigging and fly systems****:

- Operation of audio systems and setup/patch audio.
- Hang, focus, operate and strike lighting equipment
- Operation of lighting board- Stage on deck operations including draperies & theatre curtain

**Qualifications/Skills/Experience**
- Post-secondary education in a related discipline with minimum of 1 year of directly related

experience as a theatre technician
- Knowledge of health & safety procedures
- Good communications skills, oral & written
- Able to work in a collaborative environment, sometimes under pressure
- Ability to interact with school staff, external clients & vendors in a professional manner

accordance with the School’s Child Abuse/Sexual Abuse Prevention Policy; this will be coordinated through
the Human Resources Department of NBS.
